Old Business: Vanessa gave a report of some dive operators in the Florida Keys that we may contact for a club dive. She provided info on a few operators, possible accommodations, and we set a date of the weekend of November 6 & 7, for her to go forward with a club charter. She will contact Frank with info so that he can email members with details prior to the September meeting. Money for this trip would be due to the club upon signing up to confirm your spot. We also discussed the possibilities of diving at EPCOT and possibly some north Florida springs during the winter months. Vanessa will be also checking on prices for Looe Key, and with Conch Republic divers in Tavernier for possibly some wreck diving with them. Other names referred to her were Island Ventures and Quiescence charter operators in Key Largo. Frank is still after “C” cards from members. If you haven’t brought a copy of yours in, please do so. Frank also inquired with John Jorgenson as to whether his wife would be making up our membership cards. Frank also reported on Skip Reeds research into club T shirts, other novelty items, as well as a club banner which could all be made at Buffalo Graffix in Port Charlotte. More discussions on these items will occur in the Fall meetings.

New Business: Travis distributed new name tags that he produced which have our club logo on it now. We discussed buying the magnetic name tags from Coastal engraving. Minimum initial order of 20 would cost the club members 6.90 each. Travis will check into this further with Coastal engraving. We also discussed whether we would assess new members the per cost amount of a name tag, to be paid with their dues, upon joining. We will discuss this further at the September meeting. Frank also brought up the civic associations new copier and wants some club members to work on a brochure which can be printed on the copier. After assessing those in attendance, we decided not to hold this months Venice Beach dive. Frank also distributed underwater signing packets for members to review.
