Minutes of Meeting 10/20/2011

Our meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.

Program: Larry Freshman, local businessman, resident and life long diver, presented an informative program on his diving experiences with the Mel Fisher corporation and his exploits with their "investor program" whereby divers can share the treasure by investing in the corporation. Thanks to Larry for an entertaining and informative program.

Secretary's Report: Minutes from 9/22 meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: Our current balance remains at $2279.37. Deposits for the Veterans' weekend dive to Boynton Beach were made in the amount of $2016.00. Treasurer's report was approved.

Membership: One new member was in attendance. We welcome Dain Morningstar to our group.

Old Business: Our request to move our dive club meetings to the 4th Thursday of the month was approved by PGICA, effective with our January meeting. Nov. 7th is the annual Carnival of Clubs; our club, along with the Roadrunners (RV) club host this year. Volunteers to help were selected from the members present. Shelley Vincent presented information concerning our upcoming Veterans' weekend dive to Boynton Beach. The dues structure for our club was discussed, dues will for 2012 be $25 per member, due by the January meeting. T shirts are still available for sale.

New Business: No meetings in November or December due to Thanksgiving and our club will hold another Holiday social at a members home TBA on the weekend of Dec. 10th/11th. Information on the December social will be emailed to the members. Bill Berger addressed the members about an upcoming morning dive to Blue Heron Bridge, followed by an afternoon boat charter out of West Palm Beach.

Upcoming Dives: The trip to Boynton Beach is set for November 12th and 13th. We will be exploring another winter club dive to either Disney or the Tampa Aquarium.
