Meeting called to order at 7pm.
Treasure reported that the current balance is $ 1982.53
We currently have 38 paid members for 2014 and five new members with us tonight: Joe and Dawn Onofrio, Jay and Laurie Brewer and Deborah Young. Reminder that any new members joining now will have dues prorated accordingly for the remainder of this year.
We had a nice turnout to see the program of pictures from Ken & Connie Bowlings' trip to St. Croix, USVI with Uwe & Terri. Thanks for working at producing that very nice DVD. And of course the ballet of the turtles video that they were captured in which their dive operator, N2TheBlue in Fredriksted, St. Croix posted of them. We also listened to Gary Skillicorn present a report of how the future scalloping trip to Homosassa will work.
Members were reminded to know the laws for the upcoming Florida Mini Season for lobstering this coming Thurs,, July 30 & 31. Anyone still interested in jumping on a boat in Miami for this trip should contact Fantasea Scuba in Port Charlotte to see if they have any more spots available.
Our upcoming dive trips in August include the scalloping snorkel trip on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 5 & 6 in Homosassa; the Venice Beach dive on Saturday, August 16; and our Lauderdale-by-the-Sea shore dive trip on Sunday, August 24th. We will meet for this Lauderdale dive on the beach at Datura Ave. at 9 AM...remember to bring money to feed the meters! Anyone wishing more info on any of these trips should contact me ASAP.
We will be having another social get together scheduled sometime in August. I will get an email out with info after I check out some dates.
I also want to remind you that our next regularly scheduled club meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 pm at the civic association. Put the date on your calendar.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
